Equipment

  • 1 Loaf Pan
  • 1 Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Potato Masher Or Fork

Ingredients

  • 3 Ripe Bananas
  • 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Cup Sour Cream ( Or Greek Yogurt )
  • 1 Cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 Cup Chopped Nuts ( Optional )

Instructions

  • Set your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • Take a large mixing bowl, peel the bananas, and mash them thoroughly with a potato masher or using a fork. Then add the melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and sour cream; mix everything together until it becomes soft and creamy.
  • In another bowl, sift the flour, baking soda, and salt. Then gradually fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Be careful; don't overmix the batter. Fold the chocolate chips into the batter.
  • Pour the batter into a loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula and sprinkle some chocolate chips over it. Now, bake it for at least 60-70 minutes and check its doneness by inserting the toothpick into the center of the loaf, and it should come out clean.
  • When it's done, allow your bread to cool in the pan for 10-20 minutes. Then slice it and enjoy it with your favorite sides.

Notes

1) Toss chocolate chips in a bit of flour before adding them to the batter to prevent them from sinking to the bottom.
2) Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. This prevents it from getting soggy at the bottom.
3) I used a light-colored metal pan for baking as it avoids over-browning. and make sure to grease the pan or use a parchment-lined loaf pan to prevent sticking.
