Step-by-step guide to for smoked mac and cheese !
- Your recipe begins by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil then Add the elbow macaroni and cook it according to the package instructions until al dente. Make sure not to overcook it, Once it done, drain the pasta and set it aside.
- Melt the butter in a 12-inch of cast-iron skillet. Put them over medium heat, get the butter melted nicely and stir the flour . You want to use a whisk for this part so that you don’t have any flour clumps and you make kind of a nice smooth paste .
- Stir in mastard powder it’ll give your Mac and cheese a nice punch . Then whisk in milk , add the cream cheese and whisk it continuously until it becomes smooth .
- Turn off the heat and stir in shredded Medium cheddar cheese and gouda cheese combined it well. Then pour the al dente elbow macaroni and Gently mix that into the cream sauce .
- If you want to add little bit crunch at the top then take a bowl then add the panko breadcrumbs stir in a melted butter and add some barbeque rub mix it well. Sprinkle that all over the top of your Mac and cheese then it’s time to smoked it.
- Use the preheated smoker of 225°F and pour the Mac and cheese mixture into large baking dish then carefully place the baking dish into smoker. Close the lid and let it smoke for 45 min to 1 hr. Check it on every 20-30 min. Make sure don’t overcook the Mac and cheese. Once it done then carefully remove the baking dish from smoker. Garnish it with some parsley and now your recipe is ready to serve !
